Paladin Leveling Guide – Leveling As A Holy Paladin

I’ve recently been inspired to level my fourth Paladin, who was set up as a twink for 29 battlegrounds and is currently geared and spec’d for healing. This was ideal, as the main reason I decided to level her up was to see what it’s like to group from level 30 – 80. You, the loyal readers of Paladin Leveling Guide, will be privy to my experiences in this new journey.
I’ve got a bit of an admission to make here. I’ve not been much of a grouper while leveling my previous toons. My routine has generally involved getting runs through Wailing Caverns, Scarlet Monastery, Zul Farrak, and Blackrock Depths either by a friend or with a high-level character on my second account. My desire to group was kickstarted when I respec’d pally #3 to Holy on a whim around level 45 and decided to heal my way through Zul Farrak with my friend tanking and a random group of DPSers. It went surprisingly well, and I found healing infinitely more engaging than tanking or DPS.
So, that said, I dinged 30 yesterday and found a group for Scarlet Monastery Graveyard, and it was awesome. I’ve always looked on 1-60 as a kind of toll that you have to pay to get to the fun quests in TBC and WotLK, but for the first time since getting my 1st character to 60, I was actually genuinely enjoying myself in content that I had seen tons of times!
Anyway, enough about me. Paladin Leveling Guide is all about YOU, the people who haven’t leveled 3 paladins already (lol) so let’s get down to how this benefits you. Here’s the build I’m going to be using:

That will get me to 60, and from there I should have a pretty good idea of where I want to go talent-wise. For instances I plan to hit up all the usuals, Scarlet Monastery till 39 or so, Uldaman till 41ish, then Zul Farrak, Sunken Temple, Blackrock Depths, and then I’ll probably quest out the last few level to Outlands.

So if I may ask, how did it go? Yours is one of few accounts I’ve been able to find of people leveling paladins as holy, but this was written back in July.
Did you stick with holy? Make it to 80? Or maybe you found that you had less time to play the character than you thought you did? (I know how that goes!)

Unfortunately, I ended up getting caught up in the hurricane of life and shelved the Holydin at 44. I’m working on getting the BoA gear for her and I plan to level her exclusively using the new dungeon finder system.
My roommate has had pretty bad luck with groups on his resto druid since he hit Northrend (tanks who can’t tank seem to be the main issue) so I might get dual-spec and try prot / holy and see if that works out.
